I am a teacher, web developer, graphic designer and audio engineer with over 10 years experience with multimedia, teaching and eLearning. I currently work for the GRETB in Galway Community College where I have my own QQI Level 6 Course in Multimedia & Web Development. My role also involves implementing eLearning strategies for over 600 students combined with graphic design and web development both front end and back for the college.
I joined GCC on a part-time contract in 2008 before being made permanent in 2011. In that time I have overseen the complete Implementation of all our web and online e learning systems coupled with my role as Multimedia & Web Development Coordinator. I was responsible for the evaluation of the digital media production programme (QQI level 6) which was deployed nationwide in September 2017.
During my time at I.C.E Grop I was responsible for updating/maintaining 30+ Websites for SME’s in Galway City and County. My weekly tasks also included all company graphic design work and independent work for my boss (who was a Fianna Fáil Senator at the time). My main project there was to develop a web based recruitment information system using a mySQL Database and MS Access files for Boston Scientific Recruitment (which was handled by the company).
